It is no coincidence that one day after the United States pledged to reduce greenhouse gases by 17%, the Canadian government announced that it would reduce its emissions by the same amount.
Starting in 2011 Canada will reduce emissions associated with, vehicles, air and sea traffic as well as the oilsands.

As stipulated in last December's Copenhagen Accord, January 31, 2010 was the deadline for wealthier nations to submit their emissions reductions targets. Obama Pledged to reduce US greenhouse gases (GHGs) by approximately 17 percent below 2005 levels over the next 10 years.
